Is Coffee Wood Marble the same stone as Obama Wood Marble?
Reference photographs. They show the material and the finish; they are not photographs of goods we made, and the colour on screen is not a colour-match.
The figures, and where each one comes from
| Name | Who uses it | What it refers to |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee Wood Marble | Most Chinese suppliers | Guizhou wood-grain marble |
| Obama Wood Marble | Export listings, Middle East buyers | Guizhou wood-grain marble |
| Coffee Wood Vein Marble | Stone marketplaces | Guizhou wood-grain marble |
| Wood Grain Marble / Wood Grain Brown Marble | Export listings | Guizhou wood-grain marble |
| Imperial Wood Vein Marble | One Xiamen exporter | Same material, exporter-specific name |
Why it behaves the way it does
A market listing that attributes a similar stone to Turkey is not unusual, and it happens because the names in this trade are descriptive rather than geological. "Wood grain marble" describes what the figure looks like, and there is more than one stone that looks like that.
What these figures are, and what they are not
We identify our stone by its block number and by the bed it comes from. We cannot identify another supplier's block from a photograph, and we do not.
If you are specifying this
We have not published products against this question yet. Send us the process, thickness and quantity and we will quote it against what we can actually form, rather than against a catalogue.
They are the same material sold under two names. Obama Wood Marble and Coffee Wood Marble both refer to the Guizhou wood-grain marble. The name a supplier uses on his listing tells you nothing about the rock, which is why a block number is the only reliable identifier.
