Water Jet, explained

On this stone Made to order, and the block decides. Ask before you specify it.

How the surface is made

High-pressure water strips the softer parts of the surface, leaving a subtle matte texture with natural colour variation.

What it does to the stone

Understated. A fine, even texture with the colour moving slightly.

Where it is the right answer

Exterior cladding, courtyard paving and feature walls, and any place where a texture is wanted without the roughness of a hammer finish.

On Coffee Wood Marble

A good middle ground between a sawn face and a sandblasted one. It is gentle enough to keep the coffee base colour and it is the finish we would recommend for an exterior wall on this stone if the client does not want the weight of a chisel face.

The processes above are the trade's descriptions of these finishes. Whether a finish suits this stone is our reading of how a calcite marble behaves under it — we have not run a slip or abrasion test on any of these surfaces, and a floor specification needs the tested wet-DCOF figure for the stone and the finish, which we will supply on request.
