Can Coffee Wood Marble be used outdoors?

On a sheltered terrace or a wall facing away from the weather, yes. On an exposed paving or a pool deck, it needs a textured finish and a sealing regime, and the figure will weather sooner than it will wear out.
A row of roughly six squared stone blocks standing in the sand at the foot of a quarry, each one cut flat and marked with a red number on its face. Behind them the quarry is cut into benches up the hillside, and wind turbines stand on the ridge above under a blue sky.

A wide mountain valley seen from high on the slope. Two cableway towers carry a cable across the ridge, a narrow road zig-zags down the mountainside in long bends, and a village lies spread along the valley floor. Bare branches cross the foreground.

Reference photographs. They show the material and the finish; they are not photographs of goods we made, and the colour on screen is not a colour-match.

The figures, and where each one comes from

Where What it needs
A sheltered terrace Honed or brushed, sealed, and laid to fall
A wall facing the weather Vertical fixing and a ventilated cavity behind it
A pool deck Textured, sealed more often, and laid to fall
A path in a garden The stone does not suit it — it is soft, it is slippery when wet, and it is expensive to lay

Why it behaves the way it does

A marble outdoors is doing two jobs at once: it is a paving and it is a finish. Water, frost and grit together are harder on a polished surface than anything indoors, and the answer is a texture that gives the water somewhere to go.

What these figures are, and what they are not

We supply the stone and we can supply a textured finish. We do not publish an outdoor durability figure and we do not supply a paving specification for a project we have not seen.

If you are specifying this

We have not published products against this question yet. Send us the process, thickness and quantity and we will quote it against what we can actually form, rather than against a catalogue.
